There are many varieties of vinegars available for western consumers, but medical and paramedical practitioners are unanimous in their belief that just one of them is suitable for sufferers of heartburn.<br/><br/>We can define heartburn as the sensation of burning in the area of the throat or the chest, often with a bitter or sour taste. Although this can happen to people who are quite healthy (but not more than once a week), chronic heartburn is taken to be a symptom of a disease known as acid reflux, or gastro esophageal reflux disease (GERD). Other than heartburn, severe cases of GERD may also display symptoms of problems in swallowing, loss of weight, hoarseness and asthma. If neglected, GERD can then degenerate into a more severe condition called Barrett&#8217;s esophagus with the risk of cancer of the esophagus as well.<br/><br/>In medical terms, it is the weakening of the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) that leads to gastro esophageal reflux disease. The LES is the valve or circle of muscle shutting off the stomach from the esophagus. In a healthy body, this ring of muscle lets food and drink pass one way into the stomach, but shuts to prevent any flow back in the opposite direction. It is when it is debilitated due to certain factors discussed after, that gastric juices can find their way back to the esophagus (this is acid reflux), corroding the esophageal lining and causing heartburn.<br/><br/>Factors responsible for GERD may be direct agents causing the condition, others worsening a condition that already exists. There are both principal and secondary factors that contribute to GERD, and there are also complex interconnections between them. These causative elements include:<br/><br/>1. Undue production of gastric acid. In many instances (often because of inherited characteristics), the human organism may over-fabricate stomach acid that then overflows back into the esophagus to corrode lining cells.<br/><br/>2. Over-multiplication of Candida, the single cell fungus usually found in the human body (where it prefers the genital and intestinal areas) in quantities that are symbiotically balanced by the rest of the natural flora in the body. In certain cases, Candida can demonstrate explosive growth, overpowering the immune system and generating over 79 diverse toxins that can impinge on the body in various ways including that of GERD.<br/><br/>These conditions are worsened by most kinds of vinegar, including white vinegar, malt vinegar, balsamic vinegar and wine vinegar. The reason is that all these vinegars form acids when they are consumed, therefore increasing the acidity of the intestines and also the blood. This in turn triggers acid reflux and increases its level of severity. In addition to this, it is a recognized fact that these foods are the prime culprits together with white flour and sugar (and similar refined carbohydrates) in stimulating Candida overgrowth.<br/><br/>The exception to this however comes from organic apple cider vinegar. This vinegar can significantly lessen esophageal inflammation and act on Candida to bring the level back down. It can also restore the alkali balance in your digestive tract, which the other vinegars cannot do either.<br/><br/>As an important remark, heartburn does not however lend itself to instantaneous solutions because it is triggered by a combination of many underlying causes. The only reliable way to inverse the tendency and prevent heartburn from recurring is to treat the inner environment that is responsible in the first place for acid reflux happening.<br/><br/>The one solution that can do that is a complete, all-natural, holistic program.<br/><br/><br/><br/></div>

I marvel and wonder at friends of mine who eat spicy food like it&#8217;s going out of fashion, consume coffee as if it&#8217;s about to run out worldwide, and &#8220;smoke like trains!&#8221;<br/><br/>Maybe I&#8217;m jealous, I don&#8217;t know but what I do know is, if I practiced the same habits, I would be a candidate for heartburn/reflux heaven. Managing heartburn if it&#8217;s a constant in your life requires some self discipline and patience however, these attributes are quickly adopted by sufferers who simply say enough is enough!<br/><br/>Managing And Preventing Heartburn/Reflux<br/><br/>Let me say first up, these preventable measures are only a guide for those people who suffer heartburn and reflux at least once a week. If you have incidence of heartburn in your life two or more times a week, then you need to visit your local physician as there could be more serious problems associated.<br/><br/>Heartburn prevention becomes second nature after a little practice and these tips will help you maintain good quality of life and hopefully, eliminate heartburn and reflux as a factor.<br/><br/>Heartburn Prevention Tips<br/><br/>1. First and foremost, eliminate those foods which have been identified by you as heartburn or reflux triggers. I am not sure what foods are causing you problems but in my case it included some dairy-based products, spicy foods and excessive coffee. Basically, avoid acid-stimulants.<br/><br/>2. Consume food in smaller amounts. Putting unnecessary presuure in areas on the lower esophagus should be avoided. I admit, despite being a thin person, I have &#8220;hollow legs&#8221; and could consume food in large amounts. My aim was to eat smaller amounts of food on a regular basis.<br/><br/>3. Always avoid eating within three hours of going to bed. My last meal is always early in the evening everyday. It&#8217;s a discipline you must learn and one I became comfortable with. Why? I haven&#8217;t had a heartburn incident for a long time now and what I enjoy the most is no more uncomfortable night sleeps.<br/><br/>4. Avoid wearing tight clothing. This was never and issue with me but if you can afford to shed a few pounds then do it. Again, putting unnecessary pressure on the stomach area should be avoided while people who are overweight are at risk of causing similar pressure. You don&#8217;t need to lose a lot of weight, even as little as a 5-10% drop in body weight can create significant improvement in the frequency of heartburn symptoms.<br/><br/>5. Avoid alcohol and cut down or give up smoking.<br/><br/>6. Keeping a record of heartburn attacks will help you isolate the possible cause of the attacks. This information will be useful when visiting your doctor as he/she can can then formulate a plan of action for you.<br/><br/>These simple heartburn/reflux prevention tips will help you immensely if followed and if you suffer symptoms occasionally. You&#8217;ll need to exercise a little discipline but it will be worth the effort in the long run. However, if you are a chronic sufferer, your condition may be more medically deep-rooted and you should seek medical advice.<br/><br/><br/><br/></div>

This is caused by acids in the stomach making its way to the esophagus. This condition is usual to all pregnancies. The third trimester tends to suffer the most heartburns. The baby&#8217;s growing size may be the reason behind it. Everything inside the mother&#8217;s body is changing, even the positions of her organs are shifting from on side to the other. Especially the uterus, it is now pushing the stomach placing a lot of pressure on it. Traffic jammed digestive tracks results to acids in the stomach to overflow to the esophagus. There&#8217;s an old saying that goes the nastier the heartburn of the mother the more hair growth of the child. Belief are not always true but they do crack good jokes.<br/><br/>For those moms that are going through a vicious case of heart bur there is a solution for you. Eat slowly. The stomach will be less in a hurry to digest the food. Also, grinding the food more intensely will result to less production of digestive acids in the tummy. Making it more friendly to you.<br/><br/>Small portions of food intake will also leave you feeling better. Six small meals or snacking between major meals are the best way to have it. Over easting will fill up the stomach that&#8217;s already out of room because of the baby&#8217;s increasing size. On the one hand, never skip a meal. Before bedtime at night eat a snack or two to keep the stomach from rumbling during sleep. If you don&#8217;t, then a heartburn surprise is the first thing you&#8217;ll have in the morning. Don&#8217;t eat too close to the hour of sleeping. Let digestion work properly before going into slumber. Two to three hours is the recommended time to chow down your mid-night snack. This will give it ample time to dissolve the food in time for bed.<br/><br/>Having plenty of liquids is a good thing. But, when with child keep the fluids that you take in from messing with solid foods. Bloating intensifies heartburn. Sitting up and never lying down while eating tends to result to nonviolence in your tummy.<br/><br/>Being heavier than your usual self it contributes a lot with the intensity of experiencing heartburn. The spices and other acidic foods are best be kept where a pregnant lady is. Categorizing your food intake can minimize, even eliminate the frequency of heartburn. Chocolates are tempting but will have an awful effect on you. Oily or greasy pizza or fried foods are also a no no. If the craving is there, then try clearing the oily part. That way it will not be as bad as it already is.<br/><br/>Tums and Rolaids are some names that are pregnant friendly antacids. Being too careful doesn&#8217;t hurt either, so if you&#8217;re not agreeable to the idea of swallowing a pill to relieve your pain then try herbal method. Mostly almonds come highly recommended. They can help ease the pain. Almonds aid to settle the stomach. Honey can also make for good remedy. Even if people who are quite healthy also sometimes get heartburn (less than once a week), chronic heartburn strongly suggests GERD, or acid reflux, as it is also known.<br/><br/>In a healthy organism, a ring-like muscle allows food and drink to pass one way into the stomach, but then shuts off any reverse flow of stomach contents. Certain factors, detailed below, can weaken this muscle, leaving stomach juices free to get back into the esophageal cavity (this is what we term acid reflux), doing internal damage and leading to heartburn. In medical jargon, this ring like muscle is the LES (lower esophageal sphincter), and the complaint is termed gastro esophageal reflux disease. Therefore it is the role of the LES as a valve of muscle to shut off the esophagus from the stomach.<br/><br/>The multitude of causes of GERD means complex direct and indirect actions, as well as the interconnections between primary and secondary factors. Some factors initiate the problem, others simply make an existing problem worse. Factors liable to bring about GERD include:<br/><br/>1. Gastric acid production above normal levels. Often due to a genetic deficiency, the human body may over produce gastric acid, which is then that much more liable to flow back into the esophagus to corrode the inner walls.<br/><br/>2. Excessive growth of Candida, In certain contexts, Candida is no longer controlled properly and engages in explosive growth, overrunning the immune system and developing in excess of 79 different toxins that in turn can cause the body to malfunction in a number of ways, one of which is GERD. Candida is the mono-cellular fungal microbe found in virtually all human bodies (genitals and intestines are favorite dwelling places), in quantities that are usually kept under control by the natural flora and associated systems in the body.<br/><br/>It is a proven fact, in addition to the above, that a number of foods make the situation worse and stimulate Candida overgrowth. Together with white flour and sugar (and other refined carbohydrates of this type), these dangerous foods include most kinds of vinegar, including balsamic, wine, white and malt vinegar. The reason is that all these vinegars are acid-forming when consumed, thus pushing up the degree of acidity of the intestines and the blood. This then provokes acid reflux and worsens its level of severity.<br/><br/>The exception to this however comes from organic apple cider vinegar. This vinegar can significantly lessen esophageal inflammation and act on Candida to bring the level back down. It can also restore the alkali balance in your digestive tract, which the other vinegars cannot do either.<br/><br/>The only reliable possibility to stop heartburn from recurring is to directly treat the inner, underlying factors directly causing the acid reflux. This helps to explain why there is no instant remedy for heartburn itself as this is a symptom which itself is caused by a number of other internal factors.<br/><br/>The one solution that will bring the required results is an all-natural, holistic one.<br/><br/><br/><br/></div>
